The Ensemble
Due Colibrí made its debut with a private concert in an Italian villa in the Veneto region, before offering a Christmas concert for audiences in Lyon. In early 2026, the duo participated in the Before Beethoven Fest with its programme Echoes of a Lost Dream, earning an enthusiastic reception from the public.
The duo is now planning to continue its activities in Italy and Belgium, in collaboration with other musicians and colleagues. Thanks to the Odyssey programme of the CCR Noirlac and Villefavard, Due Colibrí will participate in two residencies focused on popular music arrangements for historical instruments.
The Artists
Adele began her musical studies at a very young age and chose to focus on the viola da gamba at twelve, studying under Bettina Hoffmann in Vicenza. Currently based in Brussels, she continues her training with Lucile Boulanger and Philippe Pierlot. Her work reflects a strong interest in Renaissance repertoire and consort music, specialising in French, English, and Italian solo repertoire.
A former musicologist and festival director in Lima, José studied with Myriam Rignol at the CNSMD de Lyon and with Teodoro Bau through the IBERMUSICAS scholarship — two extremely different schools of viol that he constantly brings to his playing. He combines European early music with American academic and oral traditions, and is now based in Belgium as a musician and artistic director.
Our Music
Forgetting oneself in the deepest dreams: from the intense lethargy that precedes the oneiric world, to the marvellous fantasies that blur into reality, only to be hidden forever in oblivion.
The melancholic sound of the viola da gamba is the perfect catalyst for this programme — a collection of contemplating songs and pieces that speak directly to the complexity of present times.
